It's a no brainer.
If you have a Mac and make music this is the DAW you want. I have been using Logic for about six months straight now. I had it for several years but used other DAWs. I cranked it up again and it just clicked with me. It does everything you need it to do to make music, period. It has never crashed on me and I never have glitches with it. I haven't been able to crash it yet but I'm still working on it. For the price Logic is a steal. The quality and sheer number of stock devices that it comes with is amazing. It supports AU although developers are still catching up with the M1 so be careful some of your plug ins might not run. But everything runs smooth in Catalina on an Intel based MacBook Pro. It also runs great on an M1 Mac Mini but some hard ware and plug ins aren't supported yet in Big Sur. Plus if you run an ios device you get Logic Remote and that speeds up your work flow. Got an iPad? Use idam and record audio and midi over usb. What else do you want? No it's not perfect but what DAW is? But for the price in my opnion it's one of best DAWs out there. It's the only reason why I use an apple computer.

music creation
before purchasing a MacBook, i knew all i was going to use it for was a portable DAW for Logic Pro x, i was largly debting between the pro and the air, after 1 week i am glad to report that the macbook air i purchased is fully capable of running Logic Pro x, with many tracks, and the battery life is great. logic is like the lungs ofmy studio, allowing everything to breath no matter where i am. i love logics wide variety of stock sounds that come with the software, also the parameters in which you can adjust sounds are seemingly infinite. overall if i had to chnage anyhting with logic it would be to automatically connect when linking instruments and midi connections. after the learning curve associated with logic and pairing instruments/ running channels was all figured out i was in a creative environment. also one more tip of advice would be to allow siri to communicate and help me accomplish easy tasks like, “hitting record” “pausing” adding in an automated drummer and stufff like that would be pretty awesome to have at my fingertips. but as a simple multit track organizer i couldnt be more pleased. i do also have hard times navigating my main workig space. i believe a touch screen for logic would be of great assistance in the workflo issue associated with all technology

Excellent DAW
There is no denying Logic Pro X is an excellent DAW. Having been forced to use it for school for the last twelve months I have gone from loathing it to enjoying my time with it. If this is the first DAW you purchase and plan on learning throughougly this is an excellent starting point as it is already industry standard. If you are already used to another DAW such Cake-walk, FL Studio, Ableton, or Studio One it will take some time to adjust to the new work flow and some of the interface/functions can be a bit unintuative, however, if you stick with it you will find a powerful and versatile piece of music production software. It makes scoring to picture a breeze and mixing in dolby/surround sound is simple and very intuitive. The one genre I would caution new uesrs againts making in Logic is EDM. Logic makes it extremely difficult to produce Electronic Dance Music, there is no snap to grid on the automation curves and the way it handles selection automation perameters in 3rd party VST's baffles me. You would have a much easier time starting out in FL-Studio or Ableton Live with EDM production, Logic will likely stiffle your creativity as an EDM producer if you've never opened a DAW before.

Used to hate Logic, but now I kind of like it
I honestly used to have a terrible opinion of Logic Pro X and how buggy the software can be at times, but since I have tried downloading software alternatives I actually can say that Logic is the best for the price range. I don’t like that Pro Tools is now a subscription service rather than an outright software, so I don’t see the point in doing that because you always end up paying more for it per month than what you get out of it, especially if you’re not getting paid to produce everything you do. So far I have gotten around 100 solid productions out of Logic without it being an issue. My older files still open on the software. I have written and complained to them about particular things such as the program freezing due to multiple software instruments and I noticed that in their next update it was improved. Either way, I don’t particularly like Mac platforms for gaming and intense music creation because it won’t always work with your hardware and Mac is known to be less compatible than PC in many ways and harder to upgrade. But for Mac… it’s a great program that will take your music to a much better place.

EXS24 is broken and has been since Logic 9
If you have EXS instruments created in a Logic version prior to L9 - there is a problem for the EXS to find the samples. Unlike all Logic versions before 9, there is no option to manually show the EXS where to look for the samples. If you are lucky enough to have the original old hard drive you created the samples on, and you are able to somehow connect it to your Mac - it will work. But copy the folder of samples to your new drive(s) and it stops working. Better hope your old drive doens’t die. Appe engineering is aware of the problem - they just don’t care. This doesn’t matter if you are a relative new user of Logic - but for us old-timers ( I have been in Logic since vers 3) it is a huge problem. As it is known, that Apple bought up Redmatica, who produced the program, that would fix this (EXS Manager) - it is a mystery that functionality hasn’t been made available at least, if they don’t want to fix Spotlight ( which is the underlying problem). Shame on you Apple for messing up Emagic’s great product. Lots of long standing bugs have never been fixed in Logic, but with every update new bugs are introduced. Good luck running a session relying on punching into a track. It doesn’t work reliably. Zoom settings are having random weird problems.

Amazing DAW, a small drawback
Logic Pro offers a ton for music producers. It is also the best looking DAW I have seen and I have used a few. I am in no shape or form a professional producer, but for a casual who likes to mess around with music production. It does the job. Only drawback for me is that if you are making trap/rap music, I feel like the experience is a lot better on FL Studio over this. There are some features that Apple has tried to add that I have seen on FL but it is not executed as well. Lastly, the program can be very overwhelming for beginners. I wouldn't say it's their fault, but I just found it overwhelming and still do from time to time. I do love that it is a one time purchase and have it forever with any new mac you get. It runs very smoothly even on older macs with no problems. Overall, I recommend this app for sure.

Logic Pro X… the best gets better!
I have tried many DAW’s. I have used Live, Cubase, Bitwig and Pro Tools. They are all excellent and capable DAWs. However, after using Logic Pro X, it is hard to migrate to any other music software. I find myself able to create music with relative ease that the other DAWs just are not capable of. The MIDI capabilities alone are second to none in Logic and the ability to compose music in all styles makes it the best of the best. Another huge plus is the constant and free updates Apple provides… updates that are really upgrades in the quality and number of plug-ins and soft instruments built into the program. I have Waves Mercury, 2 UAD octo cores with most of their plugs, Sound Toys, Plugin Alliance, Sonnox, Melodyne, Izotope and others… all at their latest iterations and they work flawlessly. Composing music or just recording a band is easy with this software. Whether you are into acoustic, jazz, electronica or rock, this software package is the best there is and gets updated constantly by Apple. Apple takes this software very seriously and I commend them for their excellence. Version 10.4 is stunning.

Better than Pro Tools
Hands down better than Pro Tools and any other DAW out there. If you’re looking for an easy to understand, easy to use, fluid GUI, then look no further. However, it does have on issue now with Flex Pitch and Flex Tim. It automatically “analyzes and detects” the tempo of a recorded audio region and quatizes it to where the DAW thinks it should be. Total disaster when only trying to use Flex Pitch and not edit the time. When you turn off Flex and Follow, all of your time and pitch corrections disappear. I don’t want it to follow. I just want to use flex. Nothing can fix this. I have been looking in Apple Forums and trying to find a solution for about a week now. The artifacts that now happen when using flex are so bad the audio almost becomes unusable. Also, I’ve seen some reviews about getting system overloads. All I’m going to say is, if you’re buying a MacBook Air just to use Logic, you need to rethink that. No MacBook Air is going to have the processor or the Ram to run large Logic Project files with 3rd party plugins. Please get a Mac or a MacBook Pro, don’t waste your money.

too many bugs to fix
10.4.6 I wish i never updated to this version. i was holding off until it was summer and im now running sessions and in the middle of a session the app will just close itself down or crash. Not sure what thats about and on older versions of logic i haven’t had that happen before. I think with the touch bar upgrades that are being introduced are cause us who only have pretouch bar Macs are being effected by the bug filled upgrades. Can’t wait for apple to address this and do an update. We certainly need one. some of the new features are great if it didn’t bug out on me so much. I used to be a Reasons guy and i still use it but logic was the common thread with most other musicians that i work with so i got it to be more compatible with the industry standard although reasons 10 is off the chain. Logic is fast but reasons gives me more freedom (Unlike Apple loops or Apple anything) of creativity fo all the true musicians not just producers. loading a session takes forever, ecspecially when your sounds are on external drives to save space or cut down on the cpu processing rabbit hole. need a update that fixes bugs not bringing more pest!

The BEST - not disappointed
I am grateful for this update and the enhancement of stock tools that I find myself using more often compared to 3rd party tools. The workflow is more intuitive, and I love all of the new features. I admit, I was not a big fan of using EXS24 and was actually intimidated, but the new tutorial layout broke down to me how to use Quick Sampler. I love the new method to import samples directly into software instruments, and I'm a big fan of the Remix FX and the use of Logic Remote to help achieve those sounds. The way how Drum Machine Designer works speaks for itself I also appreciate how you guys don't just change the GUI for the sake of it, but add improvements and new features to make it better. I hope this can be done for all of the ancient plugins left on Logic. I would also like to see more performance improvement for those of us who tend to use a lot of tracks (100 ), and a better sounding glide from Sampler for 808s akin to FL Studio. Maybe even a Look Up preview option for Logic project files where you can preview songs before you open them in a light weight way. Just ideas Live Loops and drum sequencer are an interesting addition and I'll have to see how it can enhance or add to my music production. I can go on and on, but all in all - a stellar update. Thanks for helping me on my journey to create the BEST At this price, this DAW is truly the most powerful DAW for buck, and it's amazing that we still get all of this for free. Thank YOU!

One thing I would change
I'm a home producer and singer! I started out using GarageBand, but it only got me so far. After much contemplation, I decided to break down and. spend the $200 on Logic. Let me tell you, this DAW is worth every cent of your money! You have so much more control over all of your effect plugins, midi instruments, and much more! Mixing is brought to another level with the many different presets and options. However, I do have 1 wish. I have other friends who also use Logic to produce their songs. Although we both use Logic, there's no seeming way that both me and my friends can work simultaneously on the same project without having to download any third-party apps or plugins. That one complaint aside, this program is by far the best out of anything I've ever tried and I'll continue to use it. 100% recommend this to you if you're still considering whether or not to buy it!

Glitchy but simply the best
i have been using logic since pro 7 and started of with Garageband. There is nothing like it out there.I don't think we understand the magnitude of what the EXS24 has become. In my opion, it is all over. The Drum synth is my favorite and combinned with the Quick Sample is all you need to create anything! This is every producer and creative musians dream and for the price, it is not matchable. I was one of those guys that paid 999 for logic 7 and upgraded to 9 but refused to pay another cent until now. Apple does need to fix the glitches and update the rest of the plugins but besides that, they have done the impossible and fulfilled my wants as a producer. For anyone switching to Logic Pro, I recommend you start with garage band especially the old version becausei in my opinion, the GUI is much more user friendly and very easy on the eye to comprehend. I give this a 5 star and I will do it again and again. Cheers to the Logic Pro team! You guys have done wonders.

Drom DJ's to Djent, Logic Pro X will serve u well
I remember back in the day when only artists or producers heavily into MIDI went with the Logic. Pro Tools was for live music, Logic for MIDI. When Avid took over Digidesign, everything went downhill fast, and Logic became more appealing. Now we are at Logic Pro X, and the days of it being only for MIDI or sequencing are far gone. Any DAW that gives unlimited audio tracks is a serious plus. You are only limited by your computer's processor. Logic has come a long way, it is seemingly simple at times, but always in depth when you are editing or arranging. It comes LOADED. I mean LOOOOAAADDDEEDD with sounds, loops, instruments, presets, effects, tools, features, tricks, plugins, everything you would need from a DAW whether you are a DJ or a Djent artsist it can be done here. Unless you are Richard D. James, you will find everything you need to do what you want to do in creating, recording and mixing audio.

I Love it...BUT
Ok, so Logic is my go to. However lately, since the last update, sometimes it craps out on loading the sessions because some random plugin (3rd party) can't be loaded, however if you load a different session that includes that same plugin it loads fine. So you have to load up that session, close it and then load up the other session just to get into it. Pretty lame. They need to be updating this software more often than 4-6 month intervals. Not to mention the ARA stuff still doesn't work as intended. Revoice won't even release their ARA version of their software because Apple won't fix their software to save ARA upon exit if you don't hit play when you get into a session (which happnes because you can't load your session until you load a different session so it doesn't crash upon a load of a specific 3rd party plugin). You guys are better than this. This is my favorite DAW of all time (and i've used tons of different ones). Apple needs to dump more money and resources into this to make it perfect...

Solid and stable for me
No idea whats up with all these reviewers getting crashes. I use Logic professionally every single day and I’ve maybe had one crash in the last 3 months on a late 2016 MBP. It was due to a 3rd party plugin. The people lamenting the switch from 9…. I don’t get it. I have a 1st gen 32-bit Mac Pro still running Logic 9 and use it frequently for certain 32-bit plugins and to just spread the load sometimes… now THAT crashes a lot. Plus, hyperthreading with 9 was not great. Now, I’m actually getting the most out of my processing power. The continued addition of features, the amazing contributions by Camel Audio’s team (just wait until we see camel space and camel phat integrated somehow… im betting its coming), the versatility with both audio projects and video projects make Logic my absolute workhorse, and not only do I never see myself leaving, I don’t think any other DAW can catch up at this point.

SO MANY BUGS & GLITCHES
I'm pretty new to using Logic so at first I thought I was just using it wrong until I started asking around and looking up tutoritals and realized the software is just super glitchy and full of bugs. 1. it crashes constantly & is easily overloaded. 2. Certain functions just won't work as they are supposed to. It will say, "turn on flex pitch to turn audio into midi" and then you click it and *nothing* will happen. 3. It will randomly not save and delete things you didn't delete which is pretty horrifying for any writer/producer. I did not delete any music from a certain track (and even tried restoring the originals from restore option) and half the tracks seemingly just disapeared without a trace. It's crazy. They have a lot of work to do on bug & glitch fixes. And they should make it workable with plugins rather than allowing it to crash every time you want to use one like it's the 90's or something. There isn't much of a point of having a fancy DAW if it's not funcitonal.

10.4.4 Audio Performance Issues
Not sure what the heck happend, but there is a marked performance in audio quality with this update...it's degraded on all of my iMacs and Macbook Pro. For some reason, when recording guitar with distortion, there are audible pops and clicks when playing with palm mutes and other fast playing techniques. I've tried to resolve this issue by adjusting latency, i/o buffer, opening LPX in low resolution, running it on different computers, different audio interfaces, a multitiude of guitars, different instrument cables and various inputs providing the distortion signal in the chain. I've tried everything and this is so incredibly frustrating. When re-recording a song I had written in the 10.2.4 version, the audio is crisp and clear, but since then it is clipping and popping every single time I play the same song. This is beyond frustrating and I can no longer use LPX in my studio because of this issue. Really hope they fix it so I will consider using it and recommending it to our artists. But this is just completely unusable junk. So disappointed.

Not worth it
I've used a lot of DAWs over the years, but haven't been recording in a while. Garage Band seemed decent and Logic Pro X reviews were good, so I thought I'd give it a try. I wish I hadn't. It's no better (or not much better) than the free stuff out there. It's not intuitive. Nothing just works the way most DAWs do. It's like you have to know the secret password just to do simple things. The only thing that worked smoothly was the detection of my hardware. Everything else is just a time-wasting headache.. Downloading the sound library sounds that I want is my latest time sucking experience. Like most things in Logic Pro X, it looks like it should be simple & straightforward, but it's not. I'll get it figured out. It will just take like 50 hours of my time like everything in this program. Ableton Live, Pro Tools, etc are all easier and more intutive than Logic Pro X. If you're a casual recorder, the free stuff is all you need. If you're a professional, you can do better than this.

Tried almost every DAW and stuck with Logic Pro
I've been producing for over a decade, and ran my own studio for about 8 years. Throughout the years, I've used everything from Cubase to Nuendo, from ProTools to DP, and from Soundbridge to Ableton... and Logic is ultimately what ticks all the boxes for me. While most DAWs are usually only very good at either the technical or the creative parts of the music making process but never cover both sides of the coin all too well, Logic Pro X does it all. Sketching out ideas, producing beats, scoring movies, mixing, mastering, dubbing... It's all here and the workflow is stellar, fast, and CPU efficient. Now, with the 10.5 upodate, it's even taking on the throne of the live-performance focused DAW... Live. Can't wait to explore all this new update has in store when paired with the updated Logic Remote app on iPad. I switched to Logic for good, and I'm here to stay.

DAW for sure
So, this application is definetly one that requires a lot of learning especially hands on. My #1 advice is to do your homework before you purchase it. Study how to use it so when you actually purchase it , you hit the ground running. I have a M1 Macbook Pro (13inch 8gb) and it crashes I would say once a week. Its kind of disappointing that it happens even that often. I have it set to use all 8 cores and I still have some issues. MAKE SURE YOU CONSTANTLY SAVE YOUR WORK. You will regret it if you do not. I hope with this new update Apple is releasing, they handle some of these issues. With the price of these computers, it is expected that crashes should be extremely minimal. But like I said its a good DAW. It will take time to learn to use it, but it will definetly be awesome once you get hooked on it.

Logic is great. 10.5.1 is unacceptable
I've been a Logic user and lover since I started on version 7 back in 2006. The general trend has been one of advances and improvements with a few hiccups along the road and some bugs that took far too long to fix. Version 10.5.1 is a whole different story, however. It is causing plugin registration issues with many of my third party plugins, meaning I can't accurately listen back to old sessions, my templates are useless, and I'm unable to use many of my favorite plugins. I've had some luck manually reregistering some plugins, e.g. iZotope RX7 Standard and getting Logic to see them as registered, but it's been a huge hassel and I'm very glad I always save an old version in case something like this crops up. In a new version, I'm often unsurprised if some small feature gets buggy, but something as essential as 3rd party plugins loading and authorizing properly is a huge oversight. TLDR: Logic is great, but avoid 10.5.1 if you can

Crashes too frequently
Hello, My name is Alex. I am writing to inform you of an issue that I have been having while working with Logic. I am a music producer who works with projects of clients as well as my own. I love everything about this DAW. Literally my only complaint is despite the fact that I have the most up to date version, closed all other apps while working, turned off my wifi (not sure if that makes a difference in terms of CPU usage), even ran projects off of an external hard drive with AND without third party plug ins, Logic has a tendency to close without warning. It is very frustrating to say the least. As much as I wanted to give a 5 star review after being a long time user, this problem has proven to be highly detrimental to my work flow. Especially when there are situations when we are running on deadlines. If there is anything else I need to take into consideration while working or anything I can do in this DAW to prevent this from happening, please don't hesitate to let me know. Otherwise, your prompt response is appreciated and I look forward to any further developments to ensure that this software runs as smoothly as possible. Thank you so very much. -Alex

This is Awesome!! :)
I love Logic and I use it almost daily; it performs excellently. I like to compose my own loops and add it to the loop library to save time when making other songs. However, I find it difficult to do so. One loop wont appear on one track like normal and each will duplicate themselves in random places on a large amount of tracks all at once. I’ll drag one of my original loops into one track then up to 36 or so tracks will simultaneously appear with duplicates of that one loop occupying each track in what looks like a staircase form. I really enjoy Logic Pro X and this is more of a minor problem that I’m not really bothered with but I would appreciate it very much if this could be checked out. Thank you very much for creating such a high quality, high performace DAW. :)

Macbook Air or Logic Pro X
I bought a MacBook Air a few months ago for a DAW software that is exclusive to apple Logic Pro X. Since ive bought it everything was working fine and was having no issues what so ever then all of a sudden a few weeks back I use the space bar to play my audio track and all of a sudden the systems crashes and i have to quit the software. Now ever since then maybe 15-20 mins into using Logic it will do the same thing, I press the space bar to play the track and literally right after the system crashes. I checked online to see if it was something with the MacBook. I cleared my cache, restarted my computer and literally nothing is fixing it. Im incredibly dissapointed knowing i spent all this money just to buy the macbook and to not have it do the one thing I NEEDED it to accomplish and it cant. Im very upset and if anybody can tell me if its something i am doing wrong or if the same thing is happening to them it would be extremily helpful and would much appreciate it. Thanks.

A no-brainer for Mac users
After using the “DAW of choice” (PT) and a couple others, I switched to Logic four years ago. I figured why not use the DAW designed by the computer that makes the computer I’m using. I’m thankful that I did. I use plug-ins from Waves, Slate Digital, SofTube, Plug-In Alliance, Toontrack, Addictive, Drumforge, JST, Boz, and probably a dozen others. I believe I started with Mountain Lion, which was the OS X when I bought my new iMac. I watch the manufacturer’s websites for compatibility notifications before I update to the next OS X, and I have never had a problem. I am currently running Sierra and I have never experienced any issues with Logic. I record at 24/96 with my late-2013, quad-core i7, 27-inch, 16 GB iMac. I will load virtual orchestral instruments and never have any issues with stability.

I love working in Logic, but backup your files
For Mac users, Logic Pro X is the most satisfying DAW to work in. You can tell it was made for MacOS. Learning Logic is fairly easy especially if you've already cut your teeth on Garageband. However, be sure to keep backups of your projects (either through Time Machine or Logic's own backup protocol) because just about every project I've worked on gets corrupted at some point. Usually it's a conflict with an AU plugin. Other DAWs don't seem to have this problem. Also, even though Logic Pro 10.4.8 works with Catalina, you may want to run it on Mojave. I've had a steep increase in Logic & Finder crashes under Catalina. Catalina is just an unstable hot mess. It's so bad Apple has disabled app store reviews for it! Stick with Mojave and you'll have a better Logic experience.

Almost Perfect
Logic Pro X is Apple's flagship DAW and it earns its stars. I've used just about every other DAW (Mac and PC). What's great is that if you graduate from Apple's free GarageBand (which is a great starter app for musicians and songwriters), the learning curve isn't bad; plus you can easily import your GarageBand projects to Logic -- nothing is lost and you don't have to start from scratch. I run many plug-ins and they all work great. Melodyne ARA sometimes failed to work but it may be a Melodyne issue. Compared to the hit-or-miss/much-hated Final Cut Pro (Apple, please STOP messing with your once-great program), Logic Pro is amazing, intuitive to use, powerful and yet streamlined -- it shows that the folks at Apple really take care of this product, and know a lot about music production.

Great, but needs better navigation options.
Hi There, i'm using logic for 5 years (has been using Avid, Ableton, Cubase, Sony, Frooty Loops, e.t.c.). As a producer/songwriter - i'd say its a great daw, so easy to build songs up, having all these instruments and stuff. Stock plugins are not bad at all if you know how to use them right. Such a great mixer and track-stacks workflow, where you just drug plugins wherever you want. so easy. But what i dont like is navigation. You can not view sound waves dark, you can not see gridlines over the tracks in the main view (only in simple mode and track editor). And also i wish you could make adjastable gravitation of the playhead to the gridlines. Tank you, Apple! All best!

RECENT UPDATE RUINED MANY THINGS
Pitch correction now sounds dull and not near as good as my old mp3'sx i saved from the same sessions that now sound awful and dull when loaded up. Even when turning off playback in my headphones while recording i still hear my voice and there is no way to cancel this because i already turned it off yet its doing it anyway!! bouncing songs has never taken me over one minute and yesterday i exported 3 songs taking one hour each AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF AN ISSUE I NEVER HAD UNTILL THIS UPDATE was system overload errors every 10 seconds, ive probably never or hardly ever gottern an system overload in the past 5 years nd now its every 10 seconds. I have reached half a million streams this year and since this recent logic update i am no longer able to make music and or move forward in any way shape or form. completely ruined my work ethic and momentum, very very dissastisfied...

AWESOME!
it really is the best - BUT how about we address the really specific bugs that are definitely fixable? Recall Solo sometimes unmutes tracks that were previously muted before soloing, navigating to marker by clicking in marker list results in a significant drop in audio for 1.5 seconds that does not occur with any other form of marker navigation, channel strip settings can be saved but there is no option to save the input it's receiving, and still no function to separate a stereo track into 2 mono signals? either way it's way way better than pro tools and i love it. i'm 100% sure i would end up with much worse problems in another workstation.

Logic is the Superior DAW
I have been using Logic since Emagic truned into Logic. I am now runing Logic 6.2 and am blown away by the new developments and technological advances. I find it interestng that some folks are rating Logic as a "do not buy," or " too glitchy," etc.. The truth is that Logic does require enough Memory and Ram to run flawlessly. If a computer is just configured with the basic out the door model with minimum memory and Ram, then some issues could occur, although I run Logic on three computers and one of them, an iMac late 2013, which is a basic 27 inch without any extra memory, or RA fruns flawlessly, no glitches, no freezes, etc.. And I have used pretty much all of the DAWS, from Pro Tools (the worst), MOTU, FL Studio, Cubase, Reason, and a few otthers, and none of them come close to Logic. A very important aspect you may be expecting from Logic versus having used other DAWS is that Logic's infrastructure is not anything like other DAWS. Taking the time to learn Logic makes all the difference and I rate Logic as the best DAW I have ever used, and continue to do so. Great Job Apple!

Great features, but there are problems
I've been using Logic Pro X for 7 years. If it weren't for the price, I would be using ProTools. I may still switch. The features are tremendous, but the bugs become bigger than the features. Sound libraries disappear, and I've often had to restart it to correct faders that don't work or software monitoring that fails. I'm running a new iMac with 16GB RAM that is dedicated to my studio, so everything except the project files are on the system disk. It's the features and price that are seductive, but when you get down to reliability, it warrants consideration. Like other Apple products, reliability has decreased in the last 5 years or so. I'm producing CDs, but it's great for casual fun. Lately, I've been going online more often for troubleshooting.

Best DAW - but there are issues
Logic is hands down the best overall DAW for any music production needs. It's deep and there is a lot to it. The books for certification are helpful. BUt some versions are more stable than others. Obviously, you don't want to update as often as you would other programs in a production envirnment. What I do is Have my stable system on one machine and an updated system on another and I export my stems and start a new mastering progect in the updated version, that way I don't screw anything up in my mixes and get alerted to bugs on the new stuff were I don't have tons of stuff going on. If you only have one computer you can still accomplish this on a partision or as a bootable backup.

best pro DAW available
The beauty in this program, like most apple products, is the perceived simplicity of the interface combined with profesional industry standard capibilities. Where this program excells and surpasses most others is by disgusing layers of complexcity and customization in plain sight that even the most detailed orientated Audio Engineer, or demanding recording/ mixing session could require. Now combine all that with it’s ability to seamlessly connect to and manipulate any audio related hardware ever created and unmatched creative workflow environment, and what you get is a quite changing of the guard for professional production from Pro-tools to Logic-X, I made a perminate switch in 2010 and never looked back.

Music to your money! And your ears, of course.
I've been using Logic Pro for almost nine years, and am very much satisfied with the level of features and downloadable content you get right out of the box. You have tuns of synths, loops, patches, effects, and more to inspire and spark ideas. I would deffinetly recommend if you're looking to upgrade from GarageBand, or if you're looking to switch to a well rounded out daw, you can't go wrong choosing Logic Pro. We have cookies! If you do wish to try before you buy, Apple has a very generous ninety (90) day free trial on the Logic Pro page on its website. Stay safe everyone.

Gets stuff done but bugs
I honestly cannot think of a better program with being somewhat affordable. I've been making music for a while and I love it! Home studio, hobbiests this is a must! I geve it 4 stars because I have non strop ran into little bugs and issues while doing music, and googling answers are rarely helpeful and I'm never quite sure waht will go wrong or how to fix it. Ive had projects that compeltly glitched out and I had to make them from scratch. This program get ths job done, but it needs some fixing occasionally. I recommend it in the end, because it gets the job done and its relativly easy to use, but again the amount of bugs needs to be addressed aggressivly by apple. Im at a standstill in a few projects because I cannot get them to work.

Been using logic for a decade, this one is buggy,
I can tell the features are amazing vs what I'm used to in the 2013 version of logic that I stayed with forever, but many things cause this version to crash. I'm on the lastest patch 10.7.7 and the latest ventura patch, and simple things such as opening a new zone in the multi-instrument sampler causes logic to crash more than it doesn't. Please get the major crashing bugs fixed, they're driving me insane. I'm on an M1 macbook pro, this machine should take any audio editing you can throw at it, and logic is less stable than on my previous 2012 macbook pro.

Please allow us to reposition channel strips!!!!!!
When will be able to rearrange/reposition/move channel strips in the Mixer. we've been asking for years. As Trump would say, this is a very very big deal. What about something intuitive like command-click on the channel name reveals a hand pointer and allows us to move the strip? This is an important part of the creative process throughout tracking and mastering. There have been requests about this for years in the forums. Otherwise this is the one of the top DAWs. It runs pretty stable all day long and the price point makes Logic Pro my top DAW. They do a really good job keeping the price down. Just please just add the ability to move channel strips. Thanks!

Getting Better and Better…all the time.
I’ve been using Logic since version 3, or Emagic it used to be called, and during that time I have been lured by some of the features of DAW programs like ProTools and Cubase - funny thing is, though, I keep coming back to Logic and , alas, I have finally decided this is Logic Pro X is the DAW for me. The feature set and intuitive nature of the program is second to none - in my opinion. It just works and works great. Although I use many third party plugins, Logic’s plugins are amazingly versatile and powerful: they are in no way second class plugins. Just an all around amazing piece of recording, composing, mixing, and mastering software.

Update 10.4.1 plugin scan issue
After I updated to 10.4.1 I purchased plugins from Softube/Console1 and Output/Movement. Installed plugins and started Logic Pro X the updated 10.4.1 did not scan for new AU plugins. Plugins not located. I then open MPC 2.0 DAW did a rescan the plugins it showed up. I could not understand why Logic pro did not do a scan. I ran LPX again went to plugin Manager there was no instance of Softube or Output plugins. I then looked for rescan plugins but what was there is reset & rescan selection. What mind boggeling is how can you rescan a selection if there is nothing of the recent added plugins when logic pro x/LPX does not initalize scan on start. There should be an option/Feature where you can manually select Logic Pro X rescan for new plugins or rescan all. What I had to do was go to the plugin folder remove some AU plugins to another folder created on the desk top close LPX and reboot iMac, then restore plugins back to AU plugin folders component. I then restarted LPX and it scanned the newly installed plugins this is tedious and time consuming task, that why it loses a star. I did not have this issue with 10.4

still my favorite daw
I've been using logic for 8 years and it's still my favorite DAW as an artist and producer. Pro Tools i think is better for full band live tracking (though it can be done in logic); however, if you're an artist or producer like me and you find the flow of logic to connect with you i totally recommend logic. One of the craziest things to me is the fact of all it's functionality and in 8 years i haven't paid for any updates or anything additionally like i had to for pro tools and other daws. It has everything you need and more! 10/10 recommend.

Everything you need.
I've been using Logic for almost 20 years. It still beats ProTools hands down in every aspect. If Logic would have been released a few years earlier, I'm sure it would be the industry standard instead of protools. The notation is great. iPad app controller is excellent. It's solid as long as you have enough RAM, and a good interface. The included content is great, and the software instruments are excellent. The audio editing is excellent once you learn how to use the tools. I've scored several films with it and it works flawlessly. Perfect with FCP. Easily worth every penny.

Too many glitches to be worth it. Get ableton or pro tools.
Worst DAW ever made by far. Every session i use this something stops working properly forcing you to save and quit constantly. I'm using a $2000 MBP the app is clearly at fault. The most common bugs with be you cant press play anymore and the playhead disappearing. Those just the issues i have constantly. Save up for ableton, don't waste any time or money on this broken program. Controllers wont show up in the midi contoller options while still triggering them with no option to turn it off. It's absolutly insane how bad this program is. It could be that apple products are just garabage as well. Every update brings more issues and makes plugins incompatable. Its as though the progam is designed to slow you down rather than work with you.

really is worth it
I have been using Logic for about 7 months and it has never let me down. Whenever i get onto logic It is always really exciting. Logic is by far worth the money. It has a ton of sounds for you to choose from and it is super fun to play around with. If you don't know something you can just click the helpbar at the top and it really does help. you can make a ton of songs with completely diffrent sounds and synths. The have a feature to make your own drumset, pedalboard, and amps and more. I am not planning on quiting Logic anytime soon.

its ok
It gets the job done, but sometimes when in a project for an hour or more, certain midi notes become a generic chime rather the the instrument the track is set to. Also, menus shift and don’t always have what the (very limited) documentation says it should have. Also the official documentation is really bad so you’ll have better luck finding forums filled with nice and helpful people. The interface itself can be clunky and lacks in both UI and UX. However, it has a wide variety of tools at your disposal and is capable of doing a lot of things. In my experience with software, it can either do one (maybe two) things really well, or it can do a lot of things with a lot of issues. This is a case of the latter.

I honestly don’t know what to say
I use this program every day and have for the past 11+ years. I love logic and I can’t speak enough good things about this program. For $200 you get everything you need to make any style of music. Chromaverb alone, a reverb plugin they added this past January AS A FREE UPDATE I MIGHT ADD, is a plugin that I would probably pay close to $200 for, alone. Not to mention the instruments and samples included. People sleep on Ultrabeat, but it is worth learning inside and out. I actually spent a few years as an Ableton user and came back to Logic for Ultrabeat (plus the vocal comping features for recording).

Industry Standard
People will tell you different DAWs are better for so many reasons. As an audio and music profesional who has been working on the field for over 10 years now and have had the opportunity to use it and other DAWs for composition, editing, mixing, createing virtual instruments, record live orchestras and choirs, and dipped my toes in spatial mixing, I can say it can handle it all. Even if its not your main DAW, if you own a Mac and you are an audio professional or an aspire to be so, it will be on your best interest to learn how to use this amazing and versatile tool.

Destroyed
I really enjoyed Logic Pro X. This last update though really upset me greatly. Some of my tracks that I have finished or nearly finished, the update has destroyed. The sounds that I have synthesized are completely destroyed and or distorted from how I created them. Some of the sounds I cannot re-replicate to the exact same way I had initially had them saved. So now, some of the tracks that I have designed are causing me to redo everything from essentially scratch all over again. Especially, when using the IDM Kits that are available, that I use quite often, are the ones that seem to be targeted. Please be quite cautious when performing this update; from my view, it is quite a diservice to musicians that spent a lot of time creating musical sounds.

Crashing each time after recording!!
This recent update brought on some great new features and some dynamite new plugins (I’ll still keep on requesting multiple CC automation lanes in the piano roll as well as a window for displaying individual midi tracks when several regions are selected for easier editing - string ensembles for example). Definitely a great update - HOWEVER - I’m usally working in very large sessions (200+ tracks) and all day I’ve been attempting to record any kind of passage with no success, since the project crashes and quits when stopping the recording. VERY frustrating, seeing as I now must reload a gigantic session with lots of midi programming and samples. Do not update to this version until Apple comes out with the soft update fixing these bugs!!

Bring back Logic Pro X, Logic Pro is buggy
I just updated my computer to The Big Sur and lost the use of many apps including GarageBand and Logic Pro X. When my computer was updating to The Big Sur, a lot of apps I have also got updated Motion, Final Cut Pro, and Compressor are working just fine but Logic Pro, GarageBand, and Main Stage are not even opening let alone respond. Please if this is caused by the upgrade or the bugs that come with the upgrade, someone at Apple has to address this. I am a musician who relies heavily on Logic Pro and if it doesn't work for me I am begining to wonder whether I invested in Pro Tools, FL Studio, CuBase or some other Daw which are are all crapy when it comes to making the kind of music that I make. For the frustration caused I am going to give the new Logic Pro 1 star out of 5.
