CNN tells the whole story and mainly the story. All sides good or bad. Positive or negative for both major political parties and administrations. All sides of a story. Far right news channels spin in one direction and if that is all you watch you will be given a very skewed view of their far right reality. I watch all the major news channels and listen to XM radio in the car. It is amazing that fox on XM channel 115 “FOX headline News” is actually news but “FOX NEWS” on channel 114 is mostly opinion offered in a format to entertain and persuade right wing viewers. The opinions offered on XM FOX 114 are in one direction only. CNN is a NEWS channel that does interview people involved in the story and when opinions are given most of the time both sides of an opinion are explored. I have learned through my experience of 75 years that when someone has to begin a view by “constantly telling you their view is telling you the truth” you should take that view with a grain of salt and widen your news viewing to make an informed decision for yourself.
This CNN app was much better prior to it’s major makeover that occurred a few months ago, which has too many disjunct sections mixed with unrelated sections of articles & underscored ads. -It’s hard to know which articles are news and which are ads disguised to be news. Also, lots of articles aren’t being removed daily, making it feel like we’re reading days old topics. Please switch back to the way CNN’s app used to be where readers could scroll down and know distinctly each section had related topics and were current. It was closer to scrolling down on Facebook with being able to see today’s headline stories. This new version is a mess. It’s confusing, frustrating and wants readers to weed through the massive amount of junk on the “Top News” page because it’s wants everything to be newsworthy. It’s makes the reader have to work to filter through garbage just to get one or two real current headline stories. Remove the advertisement stories posed as newsworthy headlines. Stop with postings of any and everything on that page in particular as it takes away from what’s really news and what’s just advertisements which has created a lack of credibility of what you’re feeding your audience. Please go back to the old app’s version where top news page was primarily today’s headline stories and the ads were more distinct so readers could clearly avoid clicking on them.
Don’t give up on democracy please CNN! You started out so informative and insightful in your Jan 6th committee coverage. The analysis was impressive. You even had a time slot devoted to democracy. That disappeared and now you just seem to be trying to prop up the Republican Party. They created the mess they are in, and you are trying to rescue them while they continue to try to suppress voting rights. This is how democracy dies. Thanks CNN. Moving on to the topic of national security — your clip of Anderson Cooper’s interview with Maggie Haberman left out some of the the most astounding information she provided. The fact that the former guy routinely tried to take top secret documents up to the private residence in the WH and bristled when Kelly (his first chief of staff) tried to stop him. I wonder how successful his next 3 chiefs of staff were at this task or if they even tried to stop him. I gave you 3 stars for the fact that, on occasion, you do point out Republican politician lies. So many lies. The country of George “I cannot tell a lie” Washington and Honest Abe has become a country where lying is big business, and the go-to strategy for getting Republicans elected whether they are Trump candidates or not.
I am so displeased with this latest version of the CNN App! The developers have totally stripped away the control and flexibility the user once had. I used to be able to Go Live, click on Schedule and select a show to watch which had previously aired that day. I LOVED that feature and now it’s gone! If for example I missed the airing of The Situation Room which airs at 2:00 pm PST here in Cali, no worries. I knew that I could watch the full show, in its entirety anytime later that same day. I could click to watch any show that had already aired by Judy clicking on it. Now I can no longer watch a show that I missed...How could the developers remove this important feature?!
This app is now just a ho-hum app. It is boring and does not offer anything meaningful to the user. I used to watch CNN faithfully on the older app version because it meant so much to me. In my opinion it was the BEST news app out there. Now there is no reason for me to use it. Truly disappointing!
The stories are good , the content in general is reliable. The biggest gripe is the amount if commercials. You will literally spend 40% of your time watching the same 6 commercials if you want to browse the videos. The worst part is the click bait that “the most trusted news source” uses, they give you an X to close commercials but it’s impossible to click the actual exit portion of it, instead every attempt redirects you to some terrible product page. I hope the sponsors wake up and see that likely 98% of the traffic they get from CNN is people just trying to close the commercial by clicking the X and are duped into a redirect because it’s actually a nano sized exit spot and don’t actually care about the product and leave their site immediately. Really a totally scammy thing to do CNN. At this point I just avoid the videos and get what I need from the text stories. If I'm forced into a video for lack of a written version, I just turn the volume down during the commercial and ignore the content (focus on the timer at the bottom). It's only natural to want to avoid watching the same commercial for the 50th time ...
Sure - but first have your web site managers and technicians set up a long long overdue feature that allows readers and viewers to message department heads, authors, TV segment directors, and most importantly CNN reporters AND ANCHORS by simply clicking on a button. Just a click to access a feedback channel WOUKD BE INVALUABLE.
CNN has lots of fans like me who would like to provide feedback in order to MAKE CNN BETTER! There have been many times in the past that I’ve wanted to compliment, encourage, or critique something I’ve read or seen on CNN - but have been unable to do so. Please stop making your organization so difficult to contact. Instead focus on becoming accessible and transparent.
Also, you might consider adding a feature similar to the NYT Digital Edition Comments Section. It’s a wonderful add on to an already great publication. Having something similar would enhance CNN overall and allow the company, as well as other viewers, to place their fingers on the pulse of the readership and the nation.
I think one of the screens popped up saying do you love the cnn app. I believe i accidentally bumped the no button trying to turn off the phone real quick, but you could put yes. I like my cnn, and then read the opposite other app. You get a balance. I never get angry at this. I feel like reading the app is critical in making you sharper in essay writing. For instance, if you were to write a persuasive essay and then write the opposite to persuade the opposite way. You got to have one to have the other. It’s skills. Nevertheless that’s only in politics, but there are a lot of other news stories also which aren’t political and they are well rounded like the science stories and different things too. So overall, I think it’s a nice app to catch up on news. If I listen too much to fox news i have to go to cnn, and then back around, get a balance of what everyone thinks. That’s what I think.
The app itself is done well. No bugs or glitches that I have come across.
The two major complaints I have come from the articles themselves. Many stories are video only which I understand as it being a television network application. But not all of us have the ability to watch a video to get the news. It would be great if there was an actual article along with the video for those of us unable to view. I have found myself leave the app to go to another source to get the story due to not being able to watch the video.
The second issue I have is with the “breaking news” alerts that pop up on my phone. I remember when breaking news was important information that needed to break into a regular broadcast to give viewers the information. The amount of breaking news is ridiculous as not everything is that important. Please get back to marking stories as breaking news when they are truly urgent/important and not every time an article gets posted.
I have been watching the news the greater part of my 66 years. When Ted Turner created the first 24 hour news cycle I was excited. The news extended to the world. I believe it was the first time America turned away from ethnocentrism. Increasingly world news became America’s news.
Now and since the gaudy showman, Donald Trump, came on the seen our news has become the worst type of soap opera. What is presented as news one day is completely forgotten the next. The hype meant to keep viewers entertained is ramped up as “ breaking news “. I do not want the news to entertain me. I want the news to give me the facts and then I will decide how important it is for me. I hate the emotion that is injected in our news stories. CNN do you want to be a leader again? Have one show that is just the facts. Cut back on the mushy, tear-jerking shows like Chris Coumo. You would not need to compete with Fox News if you were just here, what, when and a little bit of why.
I am stunned and sad at Chris’s bad judgment and will miss him. His spirit and lively presentation made him one of my faves. Unfortunately the character flaws of both Chris and Andrew are deep and not repairable, because they apparently just don't know right from wrong. I commend cnn for courageously and quickly acting decisively re the tough issue. That gesture contributed to my faith in your organization. Cnn is the only news source for me, consistently keeping the truth up front. My faith in humanity is so low lately and my worry for the human condition so constant, i need frequent hits of cnn’s clear thorough examination of the important events and issues to help sustain me after a down day or week. And you have several excellent women and men who can sort out Chris’s share of current happenings. Im eager to see how you resolve the programming and staffing. Please never falter in your commitment to truth. We need that.

CNN ruined their own app with malfunctioning linking related stories
I used to love this app. I would use it multiple times a day to get my news, and have done so for years. Several months ago, CNN added links to articles within the selected article. It sounds like a great idea and something that would help readers get easy and convenient access to more information. The problem is that CNN used malfunctioning link technology that continuously reroutes the reader to different articles without the reader selecting to do so. It’s become so horrendous that scrolling to read any article is now impossible. There are so many links and the sensitivity is so remarkably light, that just trying to scroll through an article results in being redirected dozens of times. Come on, CNN. You should have access to better technology and capable programmers. You’ve ruined your app and have effectively redirected me to a different app for my news.
CNN was my go to for news. It would still be if it worked. I have been complaining about the app freezing to CNN but CNN Just doesn’t care. A month ago I thought it was just a little glitch but it has continued. I am unable to use CNN because it just freezes. I’ve tried turning off my computer, I’ve tried reinstalling CNN, but nothing, it just freezes. If CNN does not care if their app is working or not, which, apparently they don’t since I am not the only one complaining of the problems. It now just sits there on my computer taking up space. Why? Because I was hopeful that this problem would be fixed. Since CNN doesn’t care, I will use MSNBC instead. They are reliable and you can actually use their app AND it’s dependable. MSNBC Cares. When you open it, you can be assured you’ll get the news, unlike CNN that just doesn’t care.
The CNN layout design is much superior to the design of the NBC News app design. A single scroll up or down is sufficient to find the articles you would be interested in. The CNN app also has the correct mix of video stories you can tap on to watch on your device. This app has minimum wasted space between articles, unlike the NBC app, which has too much wasted space between articles. The only fault I have with the CNN app is that, too often, the closed-caption feature seems to always be turned on by default. It should not be on automatically. My phone settings have closed captioning turned off for everything, but CNN ignores that, unfortunately. I’ve checked my phone settings often concerning this. Otherwise, CNN is my first go-to news app on my phone. It should be yours, also.
Ive been using CNN as my primary news source on all my phones the last 15 years. Ive always found their approach to news, fair, unbiased, and informative. Your election coverage has been excellent. But the past 2 years the quality of the news has radically declined. Many of the new people they hired carry distrust, even hatred, of certain demographics of people, express ageism, bigotry, and a bias that distorts the news. Every story now tries to dig up racial distrust and inflame division between Americans intentionally. This is borderline delusional and why many people have turned away from the tv version. The quality of the writing has radically declined and is often uninformed or illiterate. There is confusion in the messaging or meaning. And the silly pop culture news events that fill up the app are frankly meaningless. We have wars and earthquakes going on and you guys are writing about grammy dances and arguing on camera about if black police are too white. I hope the new owners figure out what is not working because frankly insulting your audience then asking us to watch is a good starting point.
It It’s a well organized app. I would like to have the option to use a black background with white text. If that is an option, I’m not able to find it. ’s It’s a well organized app. I would like to have the option to use a black background with white text. I also liked the black background/white text of the previous versions of this app. Was disappointed to discover this new update had switched it around. I hoped that maybe I could change this preference in settings but it's not an option :( please give the option of changing the background/text back to black bg and white text.
I love cnn and it’s content. The app always freezes, crashes, has a hard time loading, will drop signal and send you to commercials in the middle of a program. Makes you watch adds over and over when trying to regain access to live streams even when it’s the app that is failing. Audio cuts out unexpectedly and randomly. They use to update Inside Politics or State of the Union over the weekend but for a few months now you can no longer access that content except when using an actual television set so the mobile app is limited by comparison. I’ve used this app for years and very often but it’s always been on the struggle bus regardless of “bug fixes” or updates, the core of whatever is wrong continually gets worst. Disappointed by the decline to say the least. I know I can’t be the only one dealing with these issues regularly. *And full transparency I am writing this after over 10 failed attempts and over 20 minutes of waisted time just trying to get the live stream to load.*
I love the layout and accessibility of the app. It is regularly updated, shares multiple viewpoints, and covers a wide variety of stories. The app itself seriously needs some work though. Almost daily I will click on a headline, but it is a different article . The article I’m looking for will be under a headline for another article and so on. Sometimes you click on it and just nothing comes up. It’s very frustrating. The other thing is articles written that are in the “live updates” section. You will click on an article you are interested in, it will take you to the “live updates” section, but you have to scroll through several other stories to find the one you were interested in. If I'm pressed for time, I often just give up. Still the best news organization around. Keep up the good work in the news department and tell IT to get with it.. lol.
I like the app a lot, the content is well organized, varied and deep. It’s my go-to news app.
When it comes to video content, every story is usually preceded by an ad, which, in itself, is ok and understandable. However, if you watch several videos, you’ll probably have to see the same commercial you saw the first time every time. I find this very annoying. I would think they’d have a way of knowing you already saw the ad and either not show any ad or at least replace it with some other ad, to keep viewers from having a negative reaction. This was particularly irritating leading up to the midterm elections, when a particular candidate’s commercial played over and over. Even though he happened to be my preferred candidate, I had to watch the same commercial way too many times.
In the end, I frequently avoid watching videos altogether because of this and stick to the written stories.
You really do not want to discuss that the low ratings that began this summer were tied to the economy (?) and Covid-19. Forgot all about Afghanistan, did you? You wonder why your network has very few fans anymore. You’ve gone to the Dark Side. You have no journalistic integrity left. You’ve helped to turn Americans against each other. Now, you’re reporting on an administration that suddenly thinks, as they avoided with intent all along, that maybe it’s the hospitalizations that are important, not the number of cases. Anyone with a few brain cells and even a little sense of what’s best for the Country, knows that this entire pandemic was utilized by Left Democrats to remove a sitting President. It was worth it to them, and, I guess, to you and the rest of Main Stream Media to install a vacuous old man in the throes of Dementia into the Office. You are participating gleefully in the demise of a great Nation. Congratulations! By the way, I used to be an ardent fan: that ended a couple of years ago when your biases started to show. I shall, now, uninstall your Contaminated App: I want nothing to do with traitors.
It’s a great app. It delivers all the news of the cable news channel in a digestible format. It delivers rapid updates and clearly defines opinion pieces from news. It typical has less than a 30 second delay from major news networks for breaking events if you have alerts on and the alerts aren’t so cumbersome or numerous that they impolitely beg for dismissing the app.
There are ads. I don’t find them overbearing in the least, but should you want to watch a quick clip you should be prepared for them. They aren’t required when simply reading articles, however they do appear between them.
The only deterrent I find is hyperlinks within articles. Touching any of them moves you to a new page or opens your browser. This is atypical of all other apps and a bit counterintuitive to the UI as reading requires scrolling. This has only happened for the past few months and will most likely be soon corrected.
Pros: Always promptly receive alerts/breaking news on my iPhone when news happens,
Cons: I open the app and try to find the story relating to the alert and can't find the story anywhere. It would be good if your home page headlined the alert/breaking news.
The stories featured on the app need updating. A "major break" in a crime case or the latest in a world event should be updated immediately. CNN cable station anchor can be talking about news in a given story and the app can take 2 days to update the story that's been there for several days. It's never truly current. Also, some stories just sit there for too long.
Sometimes the photo and headline have nothing to do with story once opened.
Once app is opened, .....the story headline often either doesn’t relate and/or the story has been there for a couple days - ie old “breaking news”.
We really enjoy CNN live, and usually have at least one television tuned to CNN, your political coverage has been excellent. Would like to see the CNN app step it up!! Our current political climate needs current and quick updating.
(Too many ads, agreed....but if the news stories were current and more compelling, the ads would be less of an issue).
Thanks CNN - you do so much great reporting, don't let the app diminish your awesomeness !!!
I like to consider myself rather independent, so to watch both sides and be unbiased, I downloaded both Fox News and CNN. I was absolutely dismayed at how horrifying the Fox News app was. Not only was it extremely biased and full of Fake News, but the app was so full of ads and pop-ups that I couldn’t get any news without being diverted to another site. My phone crashed 4 times before I finally deleted it. This made me nervous to open CNN, because I figured they were all the same, but boy was I pleased. There were no ads, the site was completely safe and easy to use, and they provided good-quality news. Yes, they are obviously a bit biased, however they were so accurate and provided only the best sources. I was shocked to see such good-quality journalism. And, that Anderson Cooper fellow is quite attractive. He alone made me a Democrat. Ah, if only he was straight!
5-Star App, riiiiggght .... UPDATE ... MUCH BETTER
UPDATE: I can report that with IOS Version 13.2, and the CNN app Version 6.4, released today, the hyperlinks and scrolling issues that I previously complained about have seemingly been fully resolved. Not sure how they did it, but it seems like you have to press the link very deliberately (slightly longer duration?) to be taken now to the external links. The app seems to be functioning fully correctly now.
I’m done. Like the 200 or so other folks who can’t read the article they want because simply scrolling launches multiple other articles and links, this app is a disaster with IOS 13+, and CNN seems to be ignoring the problem entirely. I suspect it’s because they get paid by the click, and launching 20 new pages while trying to read an article brings them in more money. Tired of waiting....deleted the CNN app....and signed up for an ad free USA Today for $2.99. Seems worth it to me.
This is my favorite news app and I’ve had it for a long time. I like that it thoroughly covers all the categories of news. I only have one major complaint and a small complaint. The major one is that the pages take SO LONG to load. For a while I thought my phone must be the problem but a little research shows it actually is caused by all the ads on the pages. I mean it’s really slow. Isn’t there another way? It’s annoying.
My smaller complaint is that once I watch a video, even after I come out of that video I continue to hear subsequent videos playing. I have to go back into the video (and remember how long that takes!) and actually pause the video and X out. But today even that didn’t work. I actually had to turn the volume all the way down on my phone.
Still, CNN is the best news app. I do read others but I read ALL of this one first every day and just browse others.
This App would be great if it was actually designed specially for iPads, instead of strictly for sponsorship profit. The many CNN video snippets generally take 10-15 seconds to download from the internet to the iPad (even with high speed WiFi), then you have to wait for a commercial to slowly completely open up, then you have to endure a boring 13 second commercial....all before you actually get to see the real video. Thus a 30-40 second waste of time to view a 15 second snippet. This App is not optimized for anything other than video viewer annoyance. If I didn’t like and respect CNN so much I would delete it out of frustration. I prefer Apple News as it is much quicker. Wake up CNN......you’re supposed to be the most trusted news network. I trust you should be able to do a better job of optimizing your video management.
Overall good coverage of current affairs in the US but exhaustingly redundant. I found the news on international affairs to be very limited both in scope and substance. So much so that I found myself downloading other network apps (networks that I believe are not worth listening to) to get access to balanced news. Coverage on Africa appears to be condescendingly trivial and boring. Too much coverage is given to issues and non- issues related to D.J. Trump ; exactly serving the President’s deliberate manipulation of CNN to getting continuous attention. In general CNN can use its unique advantage it has over being the only real International news network better perhaps through overhauling itself in a major way. We are now living in a highly globalized world and no other mode of communication in the world can bring the world together as much as a network like CNN can. So much is happening in the world and so little is told about it.
Since I was 12 years old, I always enjoyed staying informed and current. CNN has been my primary source of news this past year. I enjoy listening to the experts give their view of the various matters that present themselves each day. Thank you for giving us the minute to minute, blow by blow accounts of the nation and world events as they unfold. This past year of 2020 has been a tumultuous year politically, economically, and racially, including the worse pandemic in my lifetime. Thus, I have depended on CNN to keep me current on the topics at hand. I rely on the dogged reporting of the FACTS as they unfold in real time. Since this year has started off with the literal storming of the Capitol, it is apparent that we are in for Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride. So I plan to hang on tight and once again look to CNN for up to date occurrences.
This version of the app is awful. The app doesn’t hold your place in the feed when you click into an article and then go back to the feed. It also doesn’t hold your place when you are in an article and leave the app and quickly return. It starts you back at the beginning of the article even if you were out of CNN for less than 30 seconds, that is if it will even load. When it doesn’t start over the article for you, it puts you back at the top of the main news feed. This app is becoming unusable. Lastly what happened to the scroll bar in the articles? I like to know how long an article is going to be and how close to the end of it I am. I am frequently reading articles while in between things and not knowing how long/how much longer an article is and not having the app save my place has made this app unusable.
I work in tech and am incredibly curious as to how this version got released and how there still hasn’t been an update to fix basic usability after weeks.
CNN has increasingly honed their team of journalists and commentators as well as specialist consultants like Sangai Gupta,MD. They are all very good interviewers that seek out guest speakers to bring to light and facts to timely stories about a wide range of subject matters. I look to CNN for presenting a team of reporters who in my opinion, tilt somewhat left of center which coincides w my views. More importantly they don’t tell me how to think (like the vile and opinionated stories from FOX). I like the humor and synergy that Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo have as they present the background of many controversial issues, that have become politicized unnecessarily by the current Administration. As such, it’s the balanced reporting and sharp insights that CNN brings to the fore that I appreciate. As such I find their stories to be thoughtful, fact-based and objective.
Over the years, CNN has moved from being my primary source of news to a lot less. There’s less news and more opinion. I find most stories to be leading rather than factual. There are 2 basic problems for CNN. First, there is simply not enough news to fill the daily news cycle. Recently, the network reported that the election results would take 4 or 5 days to tabulate, but CNN promised 24/7 coverage.
Secondly, credibility is diminished because the network relies on advertising. The ratings battle for all news programming has risen to such a level that the structure of reporting has moved beyond informing its viewers to leading them. Journalistic integrity of the day is sacrificed for keeping the interest of the viewers so they stay tuned.
It is much easier to maintain good journalism when a network has an entertainment component for revenue to offset the costs of providing information. Without this, news networks must find a way to lure viewers in order to maintain ratings.
Thanks for presenting the news of the day with the previously mentioned qualities as central in constructing the framework . I occasionally watch FOX NEWS to try to have a balanced perspective. It has become increasing more difficult because it feels like they are speaking another language. With CNN, the news is reliable and accurate. FOX channels consistently and frequently fail to mention significant events related to Mr. Trump and his republican cabinet, especially when the reports demonstrate the failure that is occurring in the administration and senate. I realize these are serious accusations but one needs to merely listen to lies that occur daily. Americans are dying every minute because there has no plan delineated. I’m sure our allies are alarmed, as the chaos continues. Thanks for presenting the news that we can trust.
Elizabeth A Baumgartner APRN.
In this ever confusing life we are living in America and in the world it is nice to know we can have a trusted news source and that is CNN. Although Trump and the right wing followers of his dismiss real news as fake news thereby limiting themselves to rhetoric and false conspiracy theories of Trump and the right wing networks, Americans can stay informed with the incredible in depth reporting of Anderson Cooper, Wolf Blitzer, Jake Tapper, Chris Cuomo, Don Lemon, Erin Burnett, Brooke Baldwin, Brianna Keiler, Kate Bolduan & a superb cast of supporters reporters. D.Sajay Gupta keeps us informed of important issues relating to this coronavirus pandemic & without him we’d be lost. I can find these articles quickly, at my fingertips & stay informed. I can watch the news live on this app for a time. This app is very easy to use. It is the first thing I check when I wake up.
CNN’s live feed on this app is a joke. Clicking to watch Live TV often takes 2-3 minutes before it comes up, if at all. That has been an issue here for years. Often times requiring shutting down and starting over. Then, if successful, you’ve got 10 minutes of preview if not logging in via a provider. Unfortunately, you are first subjected to 45-60 seconds of ads. So you’re down to 9 minutes of preview already. But wait, then it informs you they are in a commercial break and the screen is just blank. Yet your preview time continues to click down. So often times the preview you get is 5 minutes or less, and you just might encounter yet another sd break. So taking 7-8 minutes to view 5 minutes or less of programming is asinine. Might I suggest for CNN to retain users & viewers you stop paying your commentators, network executives, & stockholders a hugely lot less and return to being a worthy news outlet…..just sayin’.
What is causing the increasingly long load times? With the nation -and world’s - scene so rapidly changing, it’s incomprehensible that a major news outlet would allow its app to take a ... full minute ... or two ... and sometimes even close to three(!), to fully load. That, coupled with the constant delay in navigation responsiveness and freezing, has made CNN’s the most frustrating app I use. Having followed primarily CNN’s coverage of the news for many years, imagine how high the level of frustration must be to prompt consideration of deleting this app altogether so as not to continue the waste of storage space or my valuable time. So, am about to download another update, which one hope’s will address these issues by correcting or, at the very least, significantly improving the app’s performance.
Login Problems and Article Selection Still a Problem
The CNN app provides written news articles, short videos and live TV. It does this well but with two app-killing problems: (1) in order to watch live streams of CNN, one must login to a cable network over and over and over again. This increases the time it takes to get started and makes me use the app less. Complaints have gone unheeded with each update. (2) low-brow journalism heavily populated the articles and videos with such items as “Mother stays up all night after finding this in baby’s crib.” Its like the editors of buzzfeed and national enquirer choose every other article. This degrades the CNN brand and makes them less credible when their hosts decry the entertainment journalism of a certain other news network. All in all, I love being being able to watch CNN on my phone but these two problems greatly reduce my use and have led me to find other news apps.
What in the world is Chris Licht doing? The firing of Don Lemon is the last straw for me. I watch CNN EVERY DAY. It’s on all day in a spare room, but no more.
When journalists who possess professionalism at a very difficult time with the divisions in our society and are FIRED and put in the same headline as Tucker Carlson, it makes me sick! If this firing is because of Nikki Hailey comments, which were blown out of proportion, how does this square with all you do talking about President Biden’s age in running again for President, what sense does all of this make? None. I’m sorry for Don, but really sad for a culture carried on by a person, Chris Licht, who thinks he knows how to run a news channel. It’s a shame that others are left to continue on a daily basis. I’m done with CNN and I hope you lose many followers for this terrible decision!
I’m deeply saddened by what seems to be to me an enormous sacrifice and an immense amount of effort by everyone it seems. I wish that I could do more, I’m am so very proud of everyone’s efforts and the flexibility you all are exercising in order to m put things into a the best alignment feeble. This world is enormous and I can’t find the words t explain how wrestlin how hard it is to believe at times. The whole world in a sense is unified in commonality, we are doing an amazing job. Again I am very proud at everyone’s efforts and concerning certain parties there aren’t words I can use to explain how I feel about certain issues. I am so.. proud of you all. Thank you for this expression of the times. I couldn’t see any of this text btw.. I hope that it was clear enough of a message for everyone. Thanks again,
I’m a every day American who goes to work every day , pay my bills and pray for peace each morning. I want to know why a billionaire would want to harm people who have much less. This man is so dangerous to society but our government once again cover up for him because he has 9 days left in office. What about the federal police officer who gave his life for a lie? Where is his nine days? Please , please , please don’t let that officer and the other 4 people lives mean nothing to this country. Keep reporting the story about how 45th came into our government in destroy it. 45th and his family saw away to have unlimited power, blank check and the ability to dominate the world. This is a story that should be told forever , so we never allow another person blindly lead our people and country into darkness again.
I'm sick of the biased news like we need more fuel to the covid 19 crisis, or the elections, or the riots?? So a new article says Trump "knew that covid 19 was 'deadly' in February and kept that information from Americans"... First, I'm pretty sure nobody knew the virus would come to America, as far as anyone is concerned NOBODY CARED, nor nobody took the proper precautions to keep it from spreading, they never thought it would come here, they NEVER thought we couldn't handle it. Heck they weren't gods! It's like someone who blames (put-your-favorite-mighty-entity-name-here) is to blame for all their misery. No Republicans don't have all the answers, but if they don't, I'm sure as heck that Democrats don't have them either. Democrats used an injured ARMY veteran to throw dirt on Trump saying he didn't care about them... Until the ARMY veteran stood up to say "that's not what Trump said and stop throwing dirt on Trump using my image and my name!" Those are facts, not opinions. Sadly, CNN is looking everyday more and more based on opinions than facts. Sick of this. Time to check out Epoch times or fox rather.
I enjoy the content but am so frustrated with the app itself now I am thinking of deleting CNN and getting my news online without an app. Why? Because I can not scroll down an article without the app slide open to another article or go to another reference article because my finger was close to the referenced article when I tried to scroll down. Nothing is wrong with the functions but the functions are much too sensitive to the touch required to scroll down. This is the only app I have that has this problem! I have deleted the app and reloaded it twice to no avail. I has been doing this for the last few week. I may still look at CNN on line but on the other hand I have other news apps that do not have this irritating problem. Fix it or lose a loyal fan.
Although I love this app and use it daily for my news. I am sometimes thrown aback by the titles of your news reels. Words are extremely powerful, it’s not true when they say sticks and stones can hurt me but words never can! They can and they do, otherwise bullying wouldn’t be a thing. Words can trigger ripples and affect someone’s thought process. It can trigger someone to already HATE without fully reading the article. We live in UBER sensitive and scary time. I understand you want to catch the attention of the reader, but when your titles say things like “black man hung from a tree”, when we are already divided by color, does that help humanity?! How can that be right? Like I said I use this app daily. I just wish you were a bit more sensitive with your words!
Love ya
Hi love cnn keep you up to date on everything that’s happening around the world I wish everyone would stop that hate in try to reunite with one another god made everyone equal in this world it’s sad the republicans are trying everything in there to stop voting rights to all its not there’s to own it was created for everyone to exercise there rights to vote there out of touch with the world live in there own bubble trying to shut everything down John Lewis Martin Luther king as well as others who fought for equality to all sad they should be ashamed of them selves it don’t matter we will come out even stronger in 2022 you see when you do wrong in life wether u have power or not it comes back to bite you some way or another they won’t know what size shape or form it will come but it will god created all god bless you
CNN and the other major networks excluding Fox and Newsmax do a pretty good effort at keeping the journalism behind the news unbiased and factual. However I have noted incidence of late where journalists on the major stations are starting to bend the facts a little bit themselves. The situation on the border is, the mass influx of children, not being reported in an unbiased manner. Respected news outlets are reporting accurately (some of the time IMO) that the larger percentage of children traveling alone are in actuality contracted with human smugglers. You have journalists on the nightly news giving out heart wrenching expressions and statements about the plight of the migrant children when in fact most arrived under the care of smugglers. It’s a mess anyway you report it but unlike Fox and Newsmax report it factually.

When you report on anything, it’s not about getting the story out first, it’s about getting the story right! So do the research first, then put out the story. Responsible journalism is getting it right. Not getting a wrong story out first.
I would like you folks to report more on why a “active shooter” did what they did. I think that’s important in the story. It would be very helpful for this country to understand why this is happening from another perspective. Did the shooter know the people they shot? We’re they a victim of bullying by the company or the people shot? It doesn’t qualify what they did, however it helps for the public to know how to treat others on a everyday basis.
I just want to hear responsible journalism that is not slanted in either direction.
Excellent truthful reporting. Trump had 4 years to brainwash America. That is difficult to undo, because he made himself as a god and his idol worshippers think he can do no wrong. To go against Trump is to go against the beliefs that have slowly been ingrained in them. As democrats, We feel we are strong Christians that fall short of God’s glory,( as the scriptures tell us), but Trumpers claim to be true Christians and judge us as evil. As Democrats, when attending church, it makes you feel like an outcast because if you are not a Trumper, then they think you can’t be a believer in Christ. Trump has hit upon the very core of our nation: our belief in God and love for our fellow man. Keep telling the truth, for Jesus said “the TRUTH shall set you free.” Let’s pray that our citizens will finally see the truth. Thank you for presenting truth to your viewers.
I switched to CNN News from other news apps for two reasons; 1) The commercials are only 15 seconds prior to a video as compared to 30 seconds for others, and 2) the other apps had these annoying underlined links to related stories or media that always got in they way of scrolling through a news article.
Now it seems that CNN has adopted these annoying and inconvenient “links”. There is no way for me to scroll through a news story without unintentionally activating one of these links. I have tried scrolling along the side with varying degrees of pressure to no avail. I have tried to avoid the links by scrolling several lines of text above or below the link, but it still invariably activates the link. It has gotten so frustrating, that I am now relegated to watching the videos while I search for a new news app.
CNN, please lose the links or stand the chance of losing more frustrated users like myself.
Each day that I wake, I feel immediate anxiety until my daily CNN news briefing. In a society that uses the expression “you have to have faith” to deny reality, I’ve relied on CNN to keep me well informed of domestic and international issues. For those that read this review with skepticism, I’m a retired full bird US Public Health Service Commissioned Corp veteran with 30 years of service. If you’re not aware of this service, you probably also think that it is responsible to NOT wear a mask. Failure to wear a mask makes a statement to other Americans that one encounters in public is an admission of selfishness that prompts a mis-quote from JFK as follows: Ask not what you can do for your country, but what your country can do for you instead of “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.”
App is excellent. My only complaint is that when opening subject-specific links such as “Sports”, the news stories never automatically update themselves from the last time that I checked that link. The updating of news stories to include all of the more recent/current stories only occurs after opening and then closing one (or multiple) older news stories that are still present at the top of the page.
For example, if I check the Sports news link now, the first story listed will still be the same one at the top of the page from two days ago... After opening and closing one or more of the two-day-old news story at the top of the Sports page, only then will any newer, subsequently posted stories be present.
I feel it is important to diversify what news outlets you watch and follow. The reason being is because to truly comprehend the worlds’ many events, you need to know all sides of the story. All things considered. I love the CNN app and everything bit of information that it has to offer. However, I despise the links that are in the articles. Many times, they are abundant, and while I am trying to read the latest about President Trump from a CNN point of view, I will accidentally touch the link hidden in the text while scrolling and get thrown into another related article forcing me to return to the previous page and search for where I was before I was displaced. This will happen to me two or three times per article. Otherwise, thank you CNN for being what you are and keep all things considered.
I love CNN. I attempted to upgrade to a newer software version because my older version would “Freeze” while I attempted to scroll to read thru the app. Once I upgraded to the newer app thinking that the newer version wouldn’t freeze on me; the newer app was worse! Now I can’t even scroll past the first story without it freezing up. Really frustrating. I’ve tried repeatedly to uninstall & the-install the app with no luck. I was better off with the older version freezing intermittently than now not able to read any story at all. I’m now without CNN; as I’ve uninstalled your app completely. Please fix. You have enough resources to ensure that this conglomerate can technically & perpetually reach its audience from any media source that’s out & available.
