If you love constant, useless news alerts, get this app

At 5:30 AM on a Saturday morning I get news alerts telling me things like how a lady is suing a theme park. I have turned off everything but major news announcements and am still getting things like this. Sometimes I get around 20-30 news alerts a day, most are completely useless. It’s like whoever decides what gets sent out has Tourette’s syndrome.

All these stupid pop up ads make even bothering to use pointless, I find I open less and less. Must be trying to generate revenue once they got rid of Tucker Carlson! Haven’t watched them since and now the app is terrible

I understand the need for revenue, but Fox News App and website are one of the most annoying I have experienced. Somebody needs to get a clue. As much as I have enjoyed relying on Fox News, I have seriously considered abandoning their outlets all together. Sad they had to go this route

Pop ups

Why have these recently started and how to opt out? Seems to have started several weeks ago…random full screen ads pop up and can’t be deleted for several seconds. Used to enjoy fox news app but am now searching for an alternative.

This latest iteration constantly reloads itself, quite annoying. Also the headlines are not there when you click the title, it’s some type of summary you need to pick through to find the story- annoying again. I don’t use it as much as I used to. Finally got rid of it after the pop up ads hijack my phone.

Ads!, heats up iPhone & more

1 - I agree with the tons of users who hate the pops up ads. 2 - app badly heats up my iPhone (running latest version of iOS) to the point that I have to close it before I’m even halfway done scrolling the article titles and reading a couple of articles! 3 - looks like more and more articles are simply Twitter (X) threads repurposed. Are there not enough journalists left in the mobile app news department to create original content? 4 - too much “National Enquirer - like” content 5 - the catchy little title lines overlaying the article pics are “cheesy” and cheapen the app. Leave those to Gutfield! His are more witty. SO, it has about reached the point of diminishing returns for me! Please fix at least the heating up problem!

The good, the bad and the ugly

Great news resource! To the point and provides a broad spectrum of subjects. I think the link to videos associated to articles needs to be more fluid. Sometimes the video isn’t in the content. The pop up adds for stupid games are truly annoying. Thanks

Tell the advertisers you won’t by the product because of the annoying ads

The only way to send a message to Fox is to refuse to buy or read any ads or merchandise tgat pops into your face… did you advertisers hear that?

Stop the aggressive ads

The app now auto launches ads and completely disrupts your ability to read articles. Now it has ads permanently at the bottom of the screen. So disappointing that a main stream news app feels so cheap.

Spiraling downward

You’d almost have to TRY to make an app this awful. Must have off-shored development. Ads are unbearable. Pop-ups galore. Fix it or I’m deleting and unsubscribing from Fox Nation.

Deleting App

The pop up ads are annoying and take long to go away. The videos are never right for the story and it’s funny how the ads always run fine, but then when they are done it says connection error. I don’t think so. I’ll get my news elsewhere

Deleting the App!

the Fox News App was my go to news source since I live in Canada now…. But the last week it will not work more than 2-3 minutes before locking us and forcing me to do a hard reboot of my whole phone system. Luckily I can get Fox News thru Safari so this App is useless! For the last several years Fox News App is the very first thing I open when I get up in the morning. Please please fix this App!!!

Terrible, pop up ads, low class

FOX used to be good. They jumped the shark. Sold out in fear of the left. Just trying to sell you stuff now. We are done as a country when the last news company to take a stand decides to take a knee. Pop up every 2 seconds and dis not stand up for us when they stolenthe election. Delete this app. Terrible. FOX is not news anymore.

Advertising bonanza now

Whatever has been change in the recent past is borderline intolerable. Ads, ads, ads!!! It is crazy. They are popping up all the time now, causing issues navigating the app, are difficult to close(by design). Really? Fox doesn’t make enough $$ already?

Pop ups ruined this app

The pop ups completely ruined this app. The pop up ads immediately make the app freeze and I have to force close it, not being able to read any news. You are forcing people to go else where for breaking news. Please fix this issue

Discouraged and Disappointed

This app, for years, has been one of my main sources to keep up with the latest news. However, it has become very monotonous, repetitive and strange in some of the bizarre content. Trying to read it has become frustrating and more like reading the National Inquirer than a respected news source! am very disappointed with the ongoing changes to this app!!

Ruined by obnoxious pop ups

Why do you ruin an otherwise great app by constant annoying pop ups? I don’t need to know how many people have made comments via a bright yellow pop up!

Horrible now! Is now the Fox Ads app.

This app was once great, now this app, and their regular website are too full of interrupting advertisements. You can’t even read a story without pop up ads every few seconds. Their website is even worse now, it requires an email to read most news stories. I can’t imagine the spam ads that they would allow to fill my inbox. I was once a big fan of Fox News, no more. I’m moving on to other news sources due to their over reaching advertising methods.

Pop up ads

This app now has pop up adds that block your whole screen and are in foreign languages. I had to close down the app and clear my history to get rid of it. Time to move on to another source.

Fox is ok. App is terrible

1st review about 2020. The fox app forces you to deal with pop up advertisements over and over. Also Fox has the worst advertisers that push absolute trash on people. If Fox doesn’t clean up it’s app and who it allows to advertise on its site… I’ll stop using them as a source of news. New review 2022. App is no better but can live with that. The gripe I have is the trash advertisements and tabloid like advertisements that look like news but are just advertisements. A far better source of news is “The Wall Street Journal”, “The Epoch Times” and “Daily Wire”. Just constant trash advertising. Fox should be better than this. But it tells me it is lead by deeply flawed men and women who only care about $$ generated by scam advertising

WHY???

This has been my go-to source of news for years. Just going to delete as I do not want to be bombarded with pop up ads. I have even received ads in Spanish and no way to stop ad .Thanks Fox! Good-bye!

This used to be my favorite new app. Now you have to give them your email address or watch numerous commercials to read an article. So sad it I’m done this news channel.

Slammed with ads!

This is a good news app, but now every time I open a news story, I get slammed with another ad that takes up the whole screen and that I have to suffer through before I can see the details of the story. I think maybe I’ll start googling the headline subject matter when it pops up on my screen instead of opening the app.

I’ve used this app for years and have loved it. The last while they’ve implemented a pop up add system that is beyond annoying. An add pops up out of nowhere, blocks the whole screen, you have to wait about 5 seconds to find how to close it. The way to close it is not consistent, and more often than not instead of closing the add it takes me to the advertisement after trying to click the tiny x. It frustrates me me enough to just close the app and open a different news app every time it happens. Im fine being marketed to on your free app, just don’t do this forced pop up marketing that baits me into clicking the add after some waiting period.

Random annoying ads pop up when scrolling the headlines. This is a new event that didn’t happen until a few months ago. The app is also frustratingly slow even on a new phone and on 5G ultra wide band.

Best Network, Worst App!

This is the network that has the best reporting and personalities, but a dime store App?! C’mon man. Even the worst news outlets have better functioning apps that don’t lock up, bombard you with ads that freeze you out of news stories, and actually videos that run, or links that take one to the correct video. Fox News has to do better if they want to reach more than an antiquated TV crowd. Best network, worst app. Stop.

Love the news, hate the app

Fox News is a great source of information, however the app is poor. It’s very slow. It refreshes too often. It has too many ads. It has now added pop up ads that are annoying and can’t be turned off in the preferences. It’s hard to enjoy reading a story with the constant refreshes and ads. I also hate to be sent to Fox weather for some stories. The writing on Fox weather is poor and the stories there are not informative.
